U.S. Export-Import Bank chief to speak at UNH

DURHAM, N.H. - Wanda Felton, vice chair of the Export-Import Bank of the United States, will talk about how the bank can help local, small and medium businesses as part of the University of New Hampshire Rudman Public Forum Series Thursday, March 24, 2016, from 3-4:30 p.m. in the Strafford Room of the Memorial Union Building. The event is free and open to the public.
The Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) is the official export credit agency of the United States. It is an independent, self-sustaining Executive Branch agency with a mission of supporting American jobs by facilitating the export of U.S. goods and services. When private sector lenders are unable or unwilling to provide financing, EXIM fills in the gap for American businesses by equipping them with the financing tools necessary to compete for global sales. In doing so, the bank levels the playing field for U.S. goods and services going up against foreign competition in overseas markets, so that American companies can create more good-paying American jobs.
Felton was nominated to serve by President Obama and twice confirmed by the U.S. Senate. She has voted on more than $30 billion in global financings spanning a cross-section of industry sectors including manufacturing, transportation, petrochemicals, agribusiness and satellite communications.
The event is sponsored by The Provident Bank and the Rudman Public Forum Series. The series attracts state, national and global policy leaders and thinkers to UNH to share their insights and encourage dialogue on the most pressing political and public policy issues of our time. The series is named in honor of Warren B. Rudman, distinguished former United States Senator from New Hampshire.
