ROCHESTER - "Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale"...
That's right. The Rochester Opera House will present a two and a half week run of an all-new musical that re-creates the iconic castaways comedy from two generations ago beginning Jan. 18.
"Gilligan's Island: The Musical" is a family friendly, singing, dancing stage presentation of the ever popular '60s TV comedy show. Shipwrecked on a remote Pacific Island, seven castaways build huts and begin to explore their surroundings.
The plot thickens when they discover strange hieroglyphics in a spooky cave, which speak of an ancient legend. The weather gets rough. As expected, Gilligan foils the best-laid of the castaway's rescue plans ... romance develops ... and our castaways have an out-of-this-world encounter to boot.
It's fun, wacky and entertaining with original and memorable songs.
In addition, the concession stand will feature key lime pie, frozen drinks and daiquiris, island-themed treats, and much more presenting the perfect opportunity to forget the snow and enjoy a great show filled with music, fun, and laughs for all.
Particulars: The show runs from January 18th to February 4th. Tickets start at $16. Handicapped access in balcony only.
