ROCHESTER - The first of two Rochester Food Truck Festivals to be held this year at the Lilac Mall is set for May 19 from noon-5 p.m.

The event was first announced on Facebook in March and so far more than 2,700 have already announced they are "interested" in attending on the event's Facebook page.

Even organizers promise a large array of food trucks, a beer garden, live music and "a ton of street vendors showing off the best local merchandise."
Also promised is more seating for people enjoying a large assortment of food truck offerings while noting folks can bring their own tables and chairs if they want to set up their own seating area.

Some of the food trucks already committed to show are Soul Patrol BBQ, Crescent City Bistro, Clyde's Cupcakes, Curb Appeal Meals, Burrito Betty's, Blue Mermaid, Chez Rafiki, Dueling Chefs, The Pizza Man and KozBar Beer Garden.

More than 25 street vendors selling various merchandise are also expected.

Organizers also note that many of the trucks now accept credit and debit cards. A second such festival is slated for Aug. 11.
