Acton  fire leaves one man dead; cause still unknown

ACTON, Maine - A man died overnight in a fire that destroyed a garage and upstairs apartment on the Hopper Road.

The State Fire Marshal's Office says the man's body was recovered from the rubble early today as fire investigators combed the fire scene in the area of 309 Hopper Road. The victim's name has not been revealed as officials seek to notify next of kin.

The blaze was called in around 9:20 p.m. Mutual aid was summoned soon after.

Investigators will remain on scene today as they look for a cause.
