ACTON - An Acton man on bail conditions that prohibited alcohol use was arrested for drunken driving on Thursday after he rolled his Jeep Cherokee on the H Road.

Sheriff's deputies first responded to the crash site around 7:30 p.m. after a passer-by called to say they'd seen the overturned Jeep in the woods.

Deputy Levi Johnson was the initial responder and passed a man walking on H Road, heading toward Route 109. Once Johnson determined there was nobody in or around the overturned 1999 Jeep Cherokee, he returned to the road and found the walking man who he identified as 22-year-old Benjamin Moreau.

Moreau related he had just crashed his vehicle due to excessive speed and was suffering from neck and back pain, according to a YCSO press release.

After Moreau was examined by Acton Fire and Rescue and determined to be OK, he was given a field sobriety. It was also determined that he was on bail conditions that prohibited use of any alcoholic beverages due to a previous OUI arrest.

Moreau was arrested for violating conditions of release and operating under the influence and transported to the York County Jail where he posted a $300 bail and was released.

An arraignment is set for June in Springvale District Court.
