ROCHESTER - An Exeter woman arrested for drunken driving in Rochester on Tuesday took a ride to the city's warming center on Brock Street immediately following her booking and release on personal recognizance bail. The woman was first noticed driving erratically by an off-duty Rochester patrol officer on South Main round 5:10 p.m. The officer reported to dispatch that the vehicle almost hit him, cut off other cars and clipped a curb and a snowbank as it headed south on South Main Street toward the Rochester Commons. Soon another officer pulled the car over, administered a field sobriety test and arrested Amanda Morgenstern, 27, of 103 Washington St., Exeter. After being bailed and released on $1,500 bail, Morgenstern requested police give her a ride to the warming shelter, which was given, police said. Morgenstern's arraignment is set for later this month.
