ROCHESTER - A tractor trailer unit, dump truck and pickup truck were involved in a chain-reaction crash Tuesday on Washington Street.

The accident occurred around 2 p.m. when Michael Hafner, 32, of Rochester, was operating a Volvo Tractor Trailer unit, traveling east on Washington Street and slowing to make a turn.

At that same time Malcolm Berry, 54, of Northwood, was operating a Ford F150 also traveling east on Washington Street behind the tractor trailer unit. The two trucks collided as the Ford tried to go around it.

Both vehicles then collided with a third truck, an International dump truck stopped on Estes Road that was operated by Christopher Camire, 47, of Farmington.

Berry was evaluated on scene by Frisbie EMS, but no other injuries were reported.

The tractor trailer unit and Ford were both towed from the scene.

The case is still under investigation at this time. Anyone with information about this collision is asked to contact the Rochester Police Department at 603-330-7128.
