COPYRIGHT2017© WEST LEBANON - Bear sightings continue to mount in the area with a School House Lane resident reporting a full-grown bear in her driveway Monday night.

The woman, who didn't want her name in the paper, said she was getting ready to take her dog out for a final bathroom trip of the day when she looked out her living room window and saw the bear in her driveway.

"It was getting dark and I saw him reach up in a tree and grab a suet cake where my husband had hung it," she said. "He stood there playing with it by the tree for quite a while."

She said the bear figured out how to remove the cake from the feeder, ate it, then headed off toward Poplar Hill Road.

The resident said she thought the bear probably had come to her yard from Prospect Hill.

"I'm just so glad I looked out the window, because if I had just let Molly out, it could have been bad," she said.

She said her husband, who has been a hunter all his life, confirmed it was a full-grown bear.

"He says if you don't bother them, they won't bother you," she added.
The woman lives on Schoolhouse Lane not far from Prospect Hill Road.

The 8:30 p.m. sighting was confirmed through cellphone video, but it is too dark for publication.

Whether it's the same bear as bedeviled Milton last weekend is not clear.
