MILTON - Today's auction of the property on which the Milton Moose is located has been postponed until next month.

The one-acre property, which has housed the Moose for several years, is currently assessed at about $350,000, according to Milton Town records.

Meanwhile, the amount of money owed the town of Milton with regard to the property at 288 White Mountain Highway is just $2,873 in delinquent sewer charges since 2015, which means the mortgage holder, Bayview Loan Servicing, is likely paying the taxes, which are a little over $10,000 a year.

The property is owned by Yun Chuen Wang.

The auction is now scheduled to take place on Nov. 15.

According to a notice sent the town, the terms for the auction are $10,000 down cash or certified check, with a balance due on delivery of the closed deed.

The Milton Moose, which comprises Mens Lodge 1298 and Women of the Moose Chapter 2336, moved into its present home in 2008 after leaving the Quonset Hut formerly located on property now occupied by the town's new fire station.

Meanwhile, the club continues its charitable giving with its "Heart of the Community" drive, which is seeking donations of new winter coats through Oct. 21 and collection of food items for Thanksgiving Dinner baskets for next month.

The Milton Moose is a fraternal charitable organization that benefits many local causes including renovating the baseball field at the Milton Town Beach and helping to build the softball field behind Milton Elementary School.

The club also helps support Mooseheart, a home for youth in Illinois; and Moosehaven, a retirement home in Florida.
