LEBANON - Karri L. Moser of Lebanon has published her first work of fiction, and the public will get a chance to talk to Moser and buy her novel at the upcoming Lebanon Festival next Saturday.

The novel is titled The Weathering of Sea Glass and unfolds in the fictional coastal town of Agape, Maine.

Published in March, this novel explores the themes of forgiveness and freedom as one night changes the lives of two Maine teenagers. The Weathering of Sea Glass follows both over 35 years as they deal with the consequences of one mistake. Denny Rouleau spends decades in prison seeking redemption and purpose, while the girlfriend he left behind, Jackie, realizes she's pregnant.

Jackie struggles to raise her child alone in the tourist trap of Agape as she lies about her daughter's paternity. Once released from prison, Jackie and Denny end up face to face on the beach where they fell in love. Jackie must decide if she should tell Denny he has a family or keep her secret as a means of protecting her daughter and granddaughter.

Karri L. Moser

Before publishing her own fiction, Moser was a news reporter for both radio and print in Pennsylvania and Lexington, Mass. She has worked extensively as a freelance writer for several marketing firms, magazines, entertainment websites and publications, travel and tourism sites, and the U.S. Army Medical Recruiting Brigade. She has also ghostwritten several books and series for others over the last few years.

Moser completed The Weathering of Sea Glass over the course of three years as she moved around the country with her family. Her husband was serving in the U.S. Army. His Army service is what originally brought her to Maine in 2006, where they and their two children lived for nearly six years.

A change of duty station led the family to move away in 2011. They returned to Lebanon in 2015 when her husband retired after 23 years of active duty. Moser credits her time in Lebanon years ago as the inspiration for the setting, themes, and characters for the novel. She drew her ideas from her love of the beaches, the friends she left behind, and her experiences while living here. Her love of the area continues to inspire her as she is currently working on more Maine-based fiction, including a series set at a Maine summer resort. When Moser isn't working on new fiction, she's running with the local women's running groups, gardening with her husband, and taking care of her seven hens.

The Weathering of Sea Glass is currently available on Amazon as both a paperback and ebook. https://www.amazon.com/Weathering-Sea-Glass-Karri-Moser/dp/0692858210/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1492444881&sr=8-1&keywords=the+weathering+of+sea+glass
