MILTON - A Biddeford woman was arrested for drunken driving after a rollover crash on Route 16 neat Exit 18 in Milton on Friday night.

Mariann Perna, 33, was also charged with operating after suspension and felony possession of narcotic drugs.

The highway was closed for about an hour after Perna's vehicle, a 1999 Buick Century, ended up on its roof in both lanes after she lost control while traveling northbound, veered off to the right and up the embankment before veering back to the left, rolling over and coming to a rest on its roof.

Perna was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester and later Portsmouth Regional Hospital due to a serious head injury suffered in the crash. A passenger was also transported to Frisbie, treated and released.

The crash, first reported in The Lebanon Voice on Saturday, occurred around 8:15 p.m.

The N.H. State Police were assisted by the Milton and Middleton police departments and Milton Fire and Rescue.
