Brazen shoplifting pair attempts $500 haul

ROCHESTER - In what has become a brazen and disturbing trend, shoplifters recently attempted to flee from a Rochester supermarket with an unusually vast amount of merchandise, this time valued at about $500.

According to Rochester Police, the couple, seen in accompanying image, went into a Rochester Hannafords on July 24 and tried to walk out of the store with two full shopping carts.

When confronted by store employees, they fled leaving the items behind and left in a black Mazda four-door sedan.

Earlier this week police sought the public's help in tracking down a man who allegedly stole about $200 worth of dog food and alcoholic beverages from Walmart recently.
