MILTON - The State Fire Marshal's office has ruled that the cause of a Charles Street earlier this spring will remain undetermined after an investigation was unable to pinpoint with certainty how the blaze got started.

Fire investigator Adam Fanjoy said on Wednesday that investigators know the blaze started in the living room, but that's about it.

"There are a couple of theories, but we can't say for sure," he said, adding if they learn more it may change.

The blaze at 79 Charles St. erupted around 9:15 p.m. on May 28 drawing mutual aid from several surrounding communities.

Much of the two and a half story wood frame house was destroyed in the blaze.

No residents or firefighters were reported injured.
