ALFRED, Maine - The Sanford man accused in a hit-and-run accident that killed an Old Orchard Beach man last month saw his charges reduced from vehicular manslaughter on Wednesday in York County Superior Court.

Cameron White, 20, is accused of leaving the scene of a pedestrian accident on Route 109 in Acton that killed Kenneth Allen, 50.

White allegedly was driving a Dodge Stratus around 12:40 a.m. on July 18 when he struck Allen who had just left Willy's Ale House.

White, who turned himself into authorities later that morning, now faces the charge of leaving the scene of an accident involving death. His $25,000 cash bail was continued.
