MILTON - The owner of China Pond told The Lebanon Voice on Tuesday he plans to open a Chinese restaurant in the former Ray's Marina's lakefront property in downtown Milton.

With the recent opening of the downtown Milton Crossings which houses a Dunkin' Donuts and Dollar General, the move by China Pond owner Mike Nie would mean both of the former Ray's Marina properties located in Milton would no longer be vacant.

Ray's Marina, a longtime commercial icon along Milton Three Ponds, closed its door in November 2012.

Nie said on Tuesday he's not sure when the restaurant will be up and running, but he hopes to be open sometime next year. He said he plans to have an eat-in restaurant in the building plus some apartments.

The Milton assessing department said the property was bought by Nie and that the name on the property is Gold River LLC.

A third property that belonged to Ray's Marina is located on Champion Street in Lebanon.

China Pond currently operates out of the small strip mall that houses the Milton Cumberland Farms

Meanwhile, the final tenant of Milton Crossings, earlier said to be a Subway restaurant, has still not appeared.

A call to the developer for comment was not immediately returned.
