City lifts outdoor water ban as drought conditions ease

ROCHESTER - Rochester on Wednesday removed its mandatory ban on nonessential outdoor use of water. While drought conditions do linger, recent rainfall has improved the long-term capacity of the city's water supply reserves.

Additionally, the U.S. Drought Monitor Conditions removed the Rochester area from an "extreme" drought status.
