ROCHESTER - An eight-year-old was hurt and a Rochester man was charged with reckless driving in a single-vehicle crash that also took out a fire hydrant and utility pole on Industrial Way on Tuesday.

The accident occurred around 6:05 p.m. when police say Daniel Fraser, 32, was headed towards Ten Rod Road in his 1990 Acura Integra when he lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway and struck a fire hydrant and utility pole.

An eight-year-old passenger in the vehicle was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital with minor facial injuries after being extricated from the vehicle.

As a result of the investigation, Fraser was charged with reckless driving. Fraser was wearing his seat belt, but the child was wearing only their torso restraint, no lap belt, police said.

The vehicle had to be towed from the scene.
