DOVER - A Rochester man accused of shooting a minor with a BB-gun is facing up to seven years in state prison after his indictment last month on reckless conduct with a deadly weapon charges.

Christopher Ratay, 35, with a last known address of 49 Seasons Lane, "placed or may have placed (the 13-year-old victim) in danger of serious bodily injury, in the he did shoot (the victim) with a pellet rifle," court records state.

Ratay also faces up to a $4,000 fine in connection with the Aug. 12 incident that occurred in Rochester.

The victim, an unidentified juvenile male who is no relation to Ratay, lives in the neighborhood, Rochester Police Capt. Jason Thomas said today.

The most recent Strafford County grand jury indictments were released on Wednesday.

An indictment is not an indication of guilt, rather that enough evidence has been presented to warrant moving forward toward trial.
