ROCHESTER - A Rochester man was arrested on drug possession and trafficking on Wednesday after a medical call summoned officers and medical personnel to the Market Basket parking lot on Milton Road.

Safety officials were first notified around 4:30 p.m. for an emergency medical aid call. Police officers also responded for a "welfare check" for a male slumped over the wheel.

Just before arriving a citizen reportedly knocked on the window of the vehicle, and the male subject woke then started to drive off.

An officer then stopped the car as it was leaving, which led to a consent search of the car in which drugs were found.

James T. Brown, 30, of 12 Cross Road, Rochester, was charged with three counts of possession of controlled/narcotic drug and possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute.

Brown was held on a 72-hour probation hold as well as $5,000 cash pending an arraignment today at Strafford County Superior Court.
