City man seriously injured in early morning crash on Salmon Falls Road

ROCHESTER - A Rochester man was seriously injured early today when his motorcycle crashed on Salmon Falls Road.

Police say the accident occurred in the area of 1140 Salmon Falls and Cross roads around 12:05 a.m. when a 2017 Harley Davidson FXSB being operated by Barry Charmichael, 31, was traveling northwest on Salmon Falls Road and left the paved portion of the roadway when Charmichael lost control.

The motorcycle struck a road sign and remnants of an unused utility pole.

Charmichael, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to Frisbie Memorial Hospital and later Portsmouth Regional Hospital with what were described as serious but nonlife-threatening injuries.

The motorcycle sustained significant damage and was towed from the scene.

The accident is under investigation at this time. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact Officer Bailey at 603-330-7128.
