ROCHESTER - A Rochester transient wanted on several bench warrants out of both Rochester District and Strafford County Superior courts had to be tased by Rochester Police when he attempted to escape after being located downtown walking on Bridge Street around 11:40 a.m. on Tuesday.

Marcus Delow Green, 49, who was charged with resisting arrest for not stopping upon the officer's command, instead ran toward Wyandotte Falls.

Once at the Wyandotte Falls apartment complex Det. Geoff Moore caught up with Green, who was ordered to get on the ground but refused, prompting the tasing. Green was then taken into custody without further incident.

No injuries occurred during the foot chase.

The three bench warrants facing Green were for violation of bail in connection with resisting arrest and shoplifting charges.

Green was held without bail and is scheduled for arraignment later today.
