ROCHESTER - Rochester's Office of Economic and Community Development rolled out a new website this week that leaders hope will invigorate the city's new initiatives to foster the city's business community.

Rochesteredc.com was developed to update the previous website to incorporate a new vision, marketing elements and emphasis on attracting all types of business. This includes the revitalization of the historical downtown district and promoting retail, commercial and industrial real estate opportunities.

ED Suite, a Texas-based company that specializes in designing websites for municipalities and economic development organizations, was selected through a competitive bidding process to design the new Rochester Economic Development site.

"The updated site has the same great focus on clients and community, with new navigation and lots of pictures that highlight our hard working businesses and spectacular quality of life," said Economic Development Manager Karen Pollard. "We invite both residents and business owners to explore the site and let us know their thoughts."

Those who visit the new site will see a sleek design with plenty of visuals, information about site selection and the ability to search properties available for purchase. The website also provides details about the benefits of purchasing corporate real estate in the City of Rochester and resources like upcoming incentives, master plans and studies, and city maps.

"Our old economic development site was a great online brochure, but really needed an update to reflect the way in which site selectors and businesses access information, as well as improve our branding," City Manager Fitzpatrick said. "We are confident this new platform will contribute to economic growth in Rochester."

Visitors to the site can also learn about the Rochester Economic and Community Development Office staff and opportunities to volunteer.
