Cleanup Day vols to be treated to breakfast, lunch and special Rochester Voice deal

ROCHESTER - Rochester residents are invited to join their neighbors on Saturday to help clean up roadside debris after a long winter.

A partnership between Rochester Main Street, Rochester Recreation, and Rochester Public Works is expected to bring together hundreds of dedicated volunteers to clean up the downtown and roadways throughout the community.

Participants can choose a downtown or roadside cleanup project and are encouraged to bring yardwork gloves to help in the effort.

Check-in will take place from 9-10 a.m. at Central Square where volunteers will be treated to complimentary doughnuts and coffee during check-in. They'll also be treated to a free lunch back at Central Square from 12:30-2 p.m., courtesy of Moe's Italian Sandwiches.

The Rochester Voice (formerly The Lebanon Voice), which will be celebrating its seventh anniversary, will also be on hand offering discounted annual subscriptions for the special price of $20, with $10 of each subscription going to Gerry's Food Pantry. A year's worth of The Voice usually goes for $60.

Preregistration for Cleanup Day is not required but is available. To preregister, visit Main Street's website at www.RochesterMainStreet.org.

This event is sponsored by People's United Bank, with generous support services from Waste Management.
