ROCHESTER - With two days of what could be record breaking low temperatures and wind chills, it might be time to show your ride a little love.

Brian Healey of Healey Auto Repair on Milton Road said the most important thing is to start your car every day.

"Leave it on for about 10 minutes so it can get up to temperature," Healey said today. "No need to run it longer."

The other crucial things you can do to help your car survive the deep freeze expected this weekend is to make sure your battery, coolant and antifreeze are all up to snuff.

Many auto repair shops, including Healey's, will check them for you for free.

Tire pressures also drop in the cold, so it's a good time to check those, too, he said.

And keep at least a quarter of a tank of fuel in your vehicle at all times during cold weather snaps like this, he added.
