ROCHESTER - Two of Marvel's hottest comic book writers will be on hand for a signing at Rochester's Jetpack Comics next Thursday.

Matthew Rosenberg and Ed Brisson will sign books and talk to fans from 5-7 p.m.

Eventgoers will be able to ask about their relaunch of Marvel's premier title, "Uncanny X-Men!"

"Uncanny X-Men #1" releases on Wednesday, so not only will fans be able to meet the guys that are redefining Marvel's flagship title, but they will be able to get their copies signed for free.

Both writers have significant writing credits and have produced unique, edgy, and fun independent comics that got the world's attention.

Brisson is most noted for his series "Sheltered" from Image Comics. He is also well-respected for his self-published crime series "Murder Book" and his series "Comeback" for Image Comics, and has been nominated for the Best Canadian Writer several times. He also writes "Cable," "Iron Fist," "Old Man Logan" and now "Uncanny X-Men" for Marvel.

Matthew Rosenberg has written award winning independent titles such as "We Can Never Go Home," "4 Kids Walk Into A Bank," "Occupy Comics," and "12 Reasons To Die." He's written for Archie Comics, including "The Archies" and "Archie Meets the Ramones." His Marvel body of work includes "Secret Wars," "The Phoenix Resurrection," "The New Mutants Dead Souls," and more.

Rochester is the northernmost destination on the tour and is the only location in New Hampshire, Maine, and Vermont.

In addition to these two industry powerhouses, attendees can also meet the creators of "The Electric Black." Both Rich Woodall and Joseph Schmalke will be on hand with copies of "The Electric Black," the Jetpack Comics / Forbidden Planet Exclusive Preview Edition.
