ROCHESTER - A nonprofit organization that seeks to educate communities in making financially sound decisions regarding building and infrastructure will lead a presentation next month in Rochester,

Part of Strong Towns' mission is also to help examine the needs of communities when making major planning decisions.

Chuck Marohn, president and founder of Strong Towns, is a professional engineer and member of the American Institute of Certified Planners. His resume also includes a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and a master's in urban and regional planning.

During his presentation, titled "Housing Our Communities," Marohn will discuss economic resilience, citizen involvement and wise land use with housing availability and affordability.

"We believe this presentation will be enlightening as Rochester evaluates future infrastructure, planning, and building endeavors and the housing needs of our community," said Rochester City Manager Blaine Cox. "I encourage residents to attend this presentation, and learn about the perspective Strong Town is working to share with communities like ours."

A press release on Friday noted that the presentation is being hosted by The City of Rochester, New Hampshire Planners Association, Northern New England Chapter of the American Planning Association and New Hampshire Housing.

The event will be held April 1 at 6:30 p.m. at the Rochester Performance and Arts Center, 32 North Main St.
