ROCHESTER - Rochester Schools announced today that students at the Creteau Regional Technology Center have chosen the center's new logo from a series of student-designed entries.

Creteau Tech students entered a logo design contest with a mandate to create an image that best represents the school and its wide variety of career technical education programs.

Students voted on the logo they liked best, with junior Emily Johnson's CTE Tree of Knowledge emerging as the favorite. Junior Emelia Lamie's CTE Shield earned second place, while senior Esther White's CTE Depth of Knowledge design earned third place.

Johnson was awarded a $100 gift card, while Lamie and White each received $50 and $25 gift cards, respectively. They were chosen from among 38 entries.

"Each of the designs were great representations of Creteau Tech's programs, and I'm confident that Emily's design will represent the school for years to come," Superintendent Mike Hopkins said.

"Creteau Tech provides our students with so many opportunities to earn real world experiences and develop practical skills," Mayor Caroline McCarley said. "The logo design contest is a great example of the type of opportunities available to students, and I want to congratulate everyone for exercising their creativity."

The winning logo will be transformed into a digital image and placed on display next month.
