DOVER - Darwin Lewis Geuther, 93, of Bellamy Fields Assisted Living, formerly of Tara Estates in Rochester and East Miller Road, Ithaca, N.Y., died on Sunday, May 6, 2018. Born April 1, 1925 in Waymart, Pa.; the son of Stephen and Ethel (Gaylord) Geuther.
He was predeceased by his parents and brothers Charles, and Merton, and sisters Neva, Elva, Leeta, and Dorothy.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Florence (Edwards) Geuther; four children, Ron Geuther of Averill Park, N.Y., Karen Graham (Bob) of Portsmouth, Debbie Brady (Tom) of Gilford, and Mark Geuther of Dover; six grandchildren, Justin, Ryan, Colleen and her husband Seth, Jennifer, Katie and Stephen; Kris Geuther of Somersworth; sister Nina Kozak of Fla.; his grandniece, Janet Curtis who he was proud to say operates the farm where he was born and raised; additionally, many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews, although unnamed, he was proud of their many accomplishments.
He proudly served in World War II in the Navy Third Fleet (Pacific) aboard the USS Duluth. He attended Wilkes College and graduated from Alfred Agricultural Technical Institute. Darwin worked at Agway for 35 years before his retirement.
He was a member of The Danby Federated Church in Danby, N.Y. for 40 plus years and later a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church in Rochester.
