David Aubert ... active in Milton Mills improvements

MILTON MILLS - David Joseph Aubert, 62, of Milton Mills, N.H., died peacefully in his home on Monday, April 30, 2018 with his children by his side, following a brief battle with cancer. Dave was born on April 30, 1956, at Biggs Air Force Base, in El Paso, Texas, to parents Armand J. Aubert and Jean (Hinkley) Aubert.
After spending his early years traveling the world with his family, he spent much of his youth in the Rochester area. At the age of 16, Dave found his passion for antiques by apprenticing with local auctioneers. In 1974, he became the youngest auctioneer to be licensed by the State of New Hampshire. By the fall of 1979, Dave had founded Aubert Antiques and Auctions, a successful business that he proudly committed his life's work to. During the winter months he would also enjoy working in St. Petersburg, Fla., with his close friend Mike Myers. Dave, being a man of remarkable dedication to his craft, even held his final auction a mere week before his death.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Dave was deeply dedicated to the preservation of the historical village of Milton Mills. As a resident for nearly 45, he was involved in numerous community projects including: taking a leadership role in the development of the annual 4th of July celebration; founding the Millennial Celebration, which featured a time capsule to be opened in the year 2100; and the restoration of the 19th century Liberty Chapel, which included the donation of the original steeple top, known as the "Finger of God", one of only two in existence, to the historical society.
As hardworking and driven as Dave was, he still found time for adventure. He enjoyed spontaneous trips such as cruising on his custom Harley Davidson, hiking and camping along the Kancamagus, and traveling across the country in his motorhome. He was proud of having been to the Northern, Eastern, Southern, and Western most points in the U.S. Ever the daredevil, Dave never missed an opportunity to experience life to the fullest. Many will remember him for his numerous flights as an ultralight pilot; his most memorable flight being amongst the high winds and rocky peaks of Mount Washington.
Dave will be greatly missed by his son, Aaron Aubert, of Cocoa, Fla.; his daughter, Lindy Hall, of South Berwick, Maine; his daughter, Chezney Aubert, of Dover, his stepson, Bailey Bishop, of Milton Mills; his brother, Thomas Aubert, of Rochester, close family friend Sheila Bedell, of Acton, Maine; and his six grandchildren. He was survived a single day by his father, Armand "Rocky" Aubert, of Shapleigh, Maine. He is preceded in death by his mother, Jean Aubert, of Milton Mills, and his brother, Gary Aubert, of Rochester, N.H.
