ROCHESTER - David Philip Hoyt Sr., 80, of Rochester, and Clearwater, Fla., died peacefully on Saturday, February 3, 2018 with his family by his side. He was born on January 31, 1938 in South Boston, Mass., to Edward and Bridget Hoyt.
David was a retired Air Force Tech Sergeant of 21 years and also retired from the US Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. After his retirements he enjoyed driving for both C & J Limousine Service and also the Provider Bus Service in Rochester.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. Whenever possible he would combine his love of family with his passion of fishing at his camp in Dummer, where he loved spending time and sharing stories with family and friends.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 59 years, Mary Cruz Vazquez Rey De Hoyt of Rochester; his sons, David Hoyt Jr., and his wife Diane; William Hoyt and his wife Debra; and James Hoyt all of Rochester; grandchildren, Meaghan DeColfmacker, Denise Benjamin, James Hoyt II, Elizabeth Hoyt, Mary Hoyt, and Spencer Hoyt; several great-grandchildren; siblings, Raymond Hoyt, Edward Hoyt, Mary Madden, and Marion Katz; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Michael A. Hoyt.
