This handsome brown tabby cat is two and a half years old and recently returned to CVHS. Derek originally came from a neglectful situation, and is looking for a true forever home where his special needs can be accommodated.
As a result of overbreeding, Derek suffers from hip dysplasia, deformity, and paralysis of his back legs. He originally came to the shelter in 2017, when he was just a kitten. After about three months in our care, he was adopted. Unfortunately, this home turned out not to be the right fit for him, so he was recently returned to CVHS.
Derek certainly doesn't let his disabilities slow him down! This adorable guy gets around just fine, and still loves to play and be active. He would do best in a home without other animals. Most importantly, Derek requires a home that is willing to support his special needs and will provide him with unconditional love.
Do you have room for this adorable, exuberant boy? Come meet Derek at Cocheco Valley Humane Society at 262 County Farm Road in Dover, NH! For more information on adopting a pet, visit cvhsonline.org.
