ROCHESTER, N.H. - Donald Belanger died peacefully on Sunday, May 28, 2017, of Alzheimer's at Riverside Rest Home.
Don was born April 9, 1934, to Albert and Emma Belanger in Attleboro, Mass. He joined the Navy in 1952, receiving many medals in the Korean Conflict before his honorable discharge in 1955. After his marriage in 1956, Donald's family relocated from Massachusetts to Rochester in 1968. He then worked for Jarvis Tool and Die, Thompson Center Arms, and Spaulding Fiber. He enjoyed spending time with his family, cookouts, going to camp, fishing, playing cards with the guys, and going to the beach. He was also member of the Rochester Elks Lodge 1393 and the Victory Club of Rochester.
Members of his family include his late wife Gail Germaine; his daughters Donna Lavoie and her husband Craig, and Lynn Littlefield and her husband Bruce of Rochester; his son Michael Belanger of Tequesta, Fla.; sister Elsie Godbout of Rhode Island; six grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
He is predeceased by his brother Albert Jr. and a sister Alma, both from Massachusetts.
