Dover man's death thought to be drug related

DOVER - Police say a Dover man's death on Sunday is likely drug related.

Dover Police, Fire and Rescue got involved around 8:45 p.m. when they responded to a Hubbard Road residence after a family friend reported finding a man unresponsive.

Scott Herterich, 30, was declared deceased at the scene.

While the cause and manner of Herterich's death will ultimately be determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, based on the investigation to date it appears to be drug related.

If Herterich's death is due to a drug overdose, it will be the sixth confirmed in Dover this year. Last year thirteen suspected drug related deaths occurred in the city.

This case is being investigated by the Dover Police Department's Special Investigations Unit. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Dover Police Department at 603-742-4646.
