FARMINGTON - Two parked cars were heavily damaged today when another car careened into them on Main Street.

The accident occurred around 9:25 a.m. in the area of 395 South Main St. when a Ford Fusion headed north crashed into the rear of a parked Toyota Tacoma. The impact caused the Tacoma to partially jump the curb while hitting a 2018 Ford Explorer in front of it, while the rear of the Fusion spun clockwise ending up perpendicular to the Tacoma.

The owner of the Tacoma thought his car was totaled, while the Explorer suffered severe rear-end damage but appeared drivable.

Meanwhile, the Fusion was towed from the scene.

The male driver of the Fusion told EMTs he was OK.

Main Street was shut down to one lane for a while as police and fire worked the scene.
