EAST ROCHESTER - A Lebanon man who fell asleep at the wheel was uninjured in an East Rochester crash that cut power to the area late Sunday night.

Police responded to Highland Street around 10:45 p.m. for a vehicle that had crashed into a utility pole shearing it in two.

After a brief investigation, officers learned that Gage Dunham, 25, was headed west on Highland Street in a Dodge Dakota pickup truck when he fell asleep, crossed the centerline and struck the pole.

The vehicle overturned after shearing the utility pole in half. Power was interrupted to much of the East Rochester area, and traffic had to be rerouted.

Dunham sustained minor injuries, but was not transported to the hospital.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the accident to call the Rochester Police Department at 603-330-7127.
