Driver cited for distracted driving in early morning Rochester crash

ROCHESTER - A New Durham man was cited for distracted driving early today after his car rammed a parked vehicle on North Main St.

The crash occurred around 1:30 a.m. in the area of 148 North Main St. when police say a 2007 Jeep Compass driven by Seth Laurion, 21, headed west on North Main Street crossed into the eastbound lane and struck a 2004 Ford Mustang owned by Alfred Holt, 50 of Rochester.

The Ford was unoccupied at the time of the accident and was legally parked on the side of the road.

Both vehicles sustained significant front end damage and had to be towed from the scene. Laurion was cited for use of mobile electronic devices while driving, which carries a $100 fine for a first offense.

Laurion refused medical services at the scene.
