DOVER, N.H. - An investigation by Milton Police into a domestic violence and possible stalking case ended up with the victim being charged with manufacturing marijuana inside his Milton home.

Willard Robinson, 49, of 31 Middleton Road, was indicted this month on a special felony in connection with the case and could spend up to 7 years in state prison if convicted.

Court documents indicate Robinson was growing up to 30 marijuana plants containing over one ounce of pot at the time of his arrest on June 16.

Milton Police first got involved with Robinson on June 14, when they were called to his residence to answer a domestic violence call.

"His girlfriend had stabbed him with a vape stick," Milton Police Sgt. Evan Favorite said earlier this week.

A vape stick is used for smoking a battery operated, nontobacco cigarette that produces vapor that replicates cigarette smoke.

Robinson suffered no serious injury, but the girlfriend was arrested and as part of her bail conditions, was prohibited being near her boyfriend.

But police learned she was back at Robinson's residence the next night. When they arrived Robinson refused them entrance and they ended up in a standoff, Favorite said.

Soon after they obtained a search warrant and with the help of other agencies were able to force entry into the house, found the girlfriend and arrested Robinson for hindering apprehension.

While police were there, however, they discovered an elaborate marijuana grow operation inside the home and applied for another search warrant to search for drugs.

The next night, June 16, Favorite said they returned to arrest Robinson on the drug charges, during which time he resisted arrest and had to be tased prior to being transported to jail.

The Strafford County grand jury indictments were handed down on Oct. 15 and released on Tuesday.

An indictment is not an indication of guilt, only that a grand jury has found sufficient evidence to warrant a trial.
