DOVER - An East Rochester woman faces up to 30 years in state prison after her indictment in the trafficking of the controlled drug fentanyl.
Leah Stevens, 31, of 35A Highland St., was arrested on Sept. 14 in Rochester on a complaint of selling the synthetic opioid and charged with a Special Felony that carries a 15-30 year prison stay and a fine of up to $500,000.
According to court documents, on the day of her arrest Stevens had in her possession in excess of five grams of fentanyl and intended "to dispense said controlled drug."
The Strafford County grand jury indictments were handed down earlier this month and released last Wednesday.
An indictment is not an indication of guilt, rather that enough evidence has been gathered to warrant a trial.
