FARMINGTON - Edna L. Tanner, 92, of Farmington, passed away peacefully, Saturday, October 1, 2016, at home. Born April 8, 1924, in Milton, a daughter of Napoleon and Hazel (Downs) Marcoux, she was the oldest of ten siblings.
She married Floyd "Doc" Tanner and they were happily married for 50 years. Edna loved going on trips with Doc and they enjoyed hiking together.
In earlier years, she was a shoeworker at local shoe factories.
Edna was an avid reader and she loved baking. She was a communicant of St. Peter Catholic Church in Farmington. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed spending Sunday afternoons visiting with her sisters, gathering around the kitchen table, talking, drinking coffee and eating desserts at her mom's home in Milton.
Edna was a kind, loving and giving person. She was always there if someone needed help. We feel so blessed to have had her in our lives.
Edna was devoted to her faith and her family, and her family was devoted to her. Her niece Linda Peckham and her sister Jeanette cared for Edna and her husband Doc for many years. The last couple months of her life, her nephew Dennis, and nieces and sister helped to take care of her day and night.
Widow of the late Floyd "Doc" Tanner, she will be sadly missed by her surviving three siblings: Jeanette Flanagan, Roberta Warren and Robert Marcoux, also many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her siblings: Mary Sherman, Rita Tufts, Joseph Marcoux, Archie Marcoux, Raymond Marcoux and Charlie Marcoux.
