Elderly Rochester woman hurt in Milton Road collision

ROCHESTER - Afternoon commute traffic on Milton Road was snarled for a time on Wednesday as a result of a two-car collision that sent an elderly Rochester woman to the hospital.

The crash occurred around 3:30 p.m. near Lone Oak ice cream when police say Evelyn Gallagher, 70, of Wells, Maine, was operating a Chevrolet Impala northbound when Sandra Cullen, 70, of Rochester, was driving a Toyota Echo and turned out of a driveway onto the road.

The two vehicles the collided causing moderate damage to both.

Cullen was taken to Frisbie Memorial Hospital with nonlife threatening injuries.

During the investigating Milton Road was shut down for a brief time.

Both vehicles also needed to be towed from the scene.

The case is still under investigation at this time. Anyone with information about this collision is asked to contact the Rochester Police Department at 603-330-7128.
