SOMERSWORTH - Ellen N. Prinopoulos, 82 formerly of Tara Estates Rochester, N.H. died on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital.
She was born October 5, 1935 in Dover, the daughter of Herbert C. and Mary T. (Bennett) Norman.
Ellen was a graduate of St Mary's Academy. She was employed by New England Telephone, retiring after 38 years of service.
She was a former member of The Ancient Order of Hibernians, The Cochecho Quilters Guild, and the founding member and Queen of the Rochester division "ole'bats in red hats" Red Hats Society, before passing on her crown in 2010.
Ellen enjoyed traveling, especially her trips to Ireland, California, and Dresden, Ohio.
She was an avid quilter, having won awards for her craft.
She appreciated the value of friendship, and cherished her friends with her whole heart. You could always find her on Monday's with her "quilting girls" at Tara Estates, or on Thursdays with her "coffee girls" at Panera.
Ellen was very committed to her daughter and her grandchildren whom she loved unconditionally.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings Herbert C. Norman, Johanna M. Furbish, John (Jack) Norman, and Mary L. Norman.
Members of Ellen's family include her daughter, Denise Prinopoulos of Somersworth; five grandchildren, Joshua Prinopoulos, Alaysha Duncan, Annikah Prinopoulos, Jada Prinopoulos and Sophia Prinopoulos; one great grandson, Khairi Duncan; her sister in law Marcia Norman; nieces and nephews, and her life long friend Dorothie (Dottie) Littlefield.
