FARMINGTON - One camper was destroyed and another damaged in what is being called a suspicious fire in Farmington early today.

Farmington Fire Chief James Reinert said the call came in around 3 a.m. for a pair of campers on fire at 294 Meaderboro Road.

Firefighters were able to salvage one of the campers that ended up about 20 percent damaged while the other was totaled.

The owners of the campers live in a separate residence about 200 feet where the campers burned.

Reinert said the fire is being investigated as suspicious. He said homeowners used the campers mostly for storage and there was no power to the structures.

The primary residence at 294 Meaderboro Road, itself, burned to the ground in July 2015. No cause was ever determined, Reinert said.

There were no injuries suffered by either firefighters or civilians.
