Farmington man hurt in Rochester Hill Road collision

ROCHESTER - A Farmington man was injured on Sunday in a two-car collision on Rochester Hill Road that shut down the busy highway for a short time.

The crash occurred a little before 6 p.m. when police say Jose Cuevas Checo, 43, of Rochester was driving a GMC Envoy east when he slowed down and was struck from behind by a Nissan Pathfinder driven by John Mcgarvey, 33, of Farmington.

Mcgarvey was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital with nonlife threatening injuries, while all occupants of the GMC, including a female passenger and three minor children were OK.

Rochester Hill Road was shut down for a short period of time while emergency crews were on scene.

The case is still under investigation at this time. Anyone with information about this collision is asked to contact the Rochester Police Department at 603-330-7128.
