'Fiddler on the Roof' poised to continue SHS theater 'tradition' of excellence

ROCHESTER - Spaulding High's presentation of "Fiddler on the Roof" debuts on Thursday night at 7 p.m., and director Joanne Houston said this year's troupe of accomplished actors and musicians are ready to deliver a "tradition" for Spaulding High theater.

"There are over 100 students involved with the production and we are extremely excited about producing this historic event in time," Houston said on Wednesday.

A 25-piece student orchestra - among them 21 all-staters - will accompany the production.

"Fiddler on the Roof" will play Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. with a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m., followed by a second identical week of Thursday-Sunday performances next week as well.

Tickets can be picked up at the school weekdays from noon-5 p.m. at a cost of $7 for adults, $5 senior citizens and students.
