ROCHESTER - Rochester firefighters made quick work of a one-alarm blaze on Portland Street on Saturday afternoon.

The call came in around 4:30 p.m. for fire in a building at 416 Portland Street, and when fire crews arrived they found flames coming out of an upstairs bedroom, said Rochester Fire Capt. Eric Lenzi today.

He said firefighters were able to put the blaze out quickly.

Flames were contained to a single upstairs bedroom.

Family members were inside the wood-frame single-family dwelling at the time of the fire, but were all able to get out safely.
