ROCHESTER - Franklin A. Cole Jr., 85, died Friday, March 31, 2017, at the Rochester Manor. He was born April 12, 1931, in Kittery, Maine, the son of Franklin and Mildred (Keene) Cole.
He attended the New Hampshire Technical Institute and received a certificate in Industrial Electronics. He had been employed at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard as an Engineer retiring in 1992. He served in the Us Army during the Korean War and later retired from the Army Reserves as Master Sergeant in 1979.
He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He enjoyed the Red Sox.
Survivors include his wife Gloria (Harnois) Cole of Rochester; three sons Brian Cole of Raymond, N.H., Mark Cole of Durham, N.H., and Jeffrey Cole of Somersworth; three daughters Deborah Woischke of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Cynthia Cole of Lemoore, Calif., and Lorraine St. Pierre of Rochester, N.H.; 16 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; a sister Betty Elliott of Hudson Fla., and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
