ROCHESTER - George Albert Davis, Jr., 91, of Strafford, died peacefully in his sleep, Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Frisbie Memorial Hospital. He was born in Nashua, N.H., May 18, 1927, the son of George and Elsie Davis of Strafford.
George graduated from Spaulding High School in 1945. He joined the Navy. He apprenticed at GE and graduated from UNH where he studied mechanical engineering.
George was primarily employed by Spaulding Fiber in North Rochester as the plant manager. He also worked at Simplex Wire & Cable and Heidleburg- Harris.
George enjoyed living in the country where he was an organic gardener. He was an avid CB hobbyist and technician. He was proud of his family and family heritage.
George was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, June.
Survivors include his children Carol Bedell of Farmington, Nancy Stickney of Campton, Dr. Richard and Yvonne Davis of Parkman, Maine, David and Linda Davis of Rochester, Linda and Wesley Chism of Greenville, S.C., and Robert Davis of Dover; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and Kitty, the cat.
