ROCHESTER - George Kotsiroplos, 89, of Rochester, died peacefully on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Frisbie Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was born January 11, 1929 in Peabody, Mass., the son of Charles and Maria (Economopoulos) Kotsiroplos.
He graduated from Peabody High School in Peabody, Mass. He also attended Franklin Institute.
He had been employed as a Quality Control Manager by Vulcan Electric of Kezar Falls, Maine, for over 50 years. He was a member of the Army National Guard as a young adult.
He was an avid camper who enjoyed vacations and weekends with his family at Dolly Copp campground in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed his children and especially the grand and great grandchildren. He was "Papa" to all of them and would drop everything to help out in any way. If you couldn't fix something then it was "call Papa". Even if you just needed a shoulder to cry on, Papa was always there.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Barbara (Dumas) Kotsiroplos of Rochester; a son, Charles Kotsiroplos and wife Maureen of Raymond; three daughters, Karol Shaw and husband Stephen of Rochester, Kristine Foran and husband Ronald of Edgewater, Fla., and Joan Kotsiroplos and partner Paula Proulx, of Farmington; his grandchildren, Stephanie Gauthier and partner, Damien Sevin of Gonic, Katie Kotsiroplos of Raymond, Kristen St. Peter and husband Joseph of Newmarket; great-grandchildren, Mada and Griffin Gauthier of Gonic, and Quinn St. Peter of Newmarket. George had many nieces and nephews.
George was predeceased by his parents, brother Perry Kotsiroplos, sister, Elaine Spinazola, and grandson Ryan Shaw.
