SOMERSWORTH - Police have arrested a Somersworth woman they say was selling crack cocaine out of a local GNC store while working as an employee.

Jenny Delgado, 26, of 343A Main St., was arrested on Tuesday after members of the Strafford County Drug Task Force and Somersworth police executed a search warrant at the GNC located at 160 Tri City Road in Somersworth.

The arrest was a part of the task force's Granite Shield operation and was the result of a months-long investigation, according to a press release sent from the sheriff's office on Wednesday.

The investigation was initiated when the Somersworth Police Department developed information that an employee of GNC was selling controlled drugs from the business. During the investigation, the employee was identified as Delgado, and it was determined she was selling the controlled drug crack cocaine during business hours.

As a result of Tuesday's search, officers seized about ¾ of an ounce of crack cocaine and $599.00. Officers also located items indicative of drug sales to include a scale and baggies. The investigation is ongoing and more charges are expected.

Delgado was released on personal recognizance and is scheduled to appear in the Strafford County Superior Court on March 15.

Granite Shield Operations have included the Dover, Somersworth, and Rochester Police Departments, and have resulted in 42 arrests, the seizure of 320 grams of fentanyl, 28 grams of carfentanyl, 43 grams of crack cocaine, 31 grams of cocaine, 4 grams of meth, 14 grams of marijuana, 3 suboxone strips, Butane Honey Oil, two firearms, and $11,460.00.
