HRCU's Shields promoted to executive vice president

ROCHESTER ­- HRCU announced recently the promotion of longtime employee Rosemary Shields to the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.

Ms. Shields has served as COO for the credit union since 2013 and will continue to oversee Operations, IT, Financial Services and Compliance at HRCU. A

As newly appointed Executive VP, she will also focus on organizational development, business strategy, developing new efficiencies, and helping the credit union stay ahead of the financial services curve. She will also work closely with CEO and President of HRCU, Brian Hughes, to administer marketing plans.

"Rosemary is incredibly deserving of this new role at HRCU," said Hughes. "Hard work, dedication and passion for serving our members is what makes HRCU so successful - and Rosemary goes above and beyond in these areas."

Shields has served the HRCU community for over 17 years, having progressed through the ranks starting as a Teller Supervisor in 2000. She then took on the roles of Branch Administration Supervisor/Loan Officer, AVP Branch Administration, VP Branch Administration, VP Branch Administration and Operations, and finally, Chief Operating Officer. Her total career in banking spans over 40 years.

Shields was drawn to HRCU by its deep level of customer service. She said, "Working at HRCU opened up a whole new world for me, and I can honestly say that coming here was one of the best decisions I've made in my life. HRCU has presented me with many opportunities to learn and grow in my career. I love the credit union. I believe in it, and believe that we make a difference for so many people."
